Transport for Ireland / Transport for Your Spare Time

THE BRIEF

Transport for Ireland needed a 20 second spot that makes public transport feel like the start of the fun, not the boring bit.

Connelly Partners brought us in to bring their vision to life. The trick was pace. Four worlds. One film. Match cuts that actually land.

All while staying inside fixed usage, subtitles, and multi format delivery for social, TV and VOD.

HOW WE SHOT IT

We built one day that could hold four locations without chaos.

We anchored most scenes in St Mary’s College RFC, grabbed the pool in a locked private window, then used the Wayfinding Centre for controlled LUAS and rail setups.

A 10 person senior crew kept setups moving fast and clean.

SCOPE

We treated the brief as a timing problem first, then designed everything to protect pace and usage.

We scoped to two adult principals, then used 6 to 8 extras to build representation without inflating usage.

We grouped bar, bingo, pitch, and Local Link into one campus base to cut travel and keep lighting consistent.

We locked a pool window and planned a minimal footprint so we could shoot fast, safely, and get out.

SHOOT

We shot for match cuts that feel like magic, but still look real.

Core crew was producer, director, AD, DP, AC, gaffer, best boy, PA, HMU, stylist. No passengers.

Schedule order was built around light and access. Bar early, pool window next, then bingo, pitch, and Local Link.

We captured clean transition details on transport so sound and cut points could glue scenes together.

SUPPORT

Post stayed tight because we planned the finish from the start.

We managed the finishing stack across VFX plates, end frame animation, grade, and final mix once picture locked.

We delivered subtitles and reframed versions with platform UI in mind, especially 9:16.

Bad Coyote got us there. Meticulous pre-production, a focused shoot day, multiple scenes, stills, and an asset bank built to feed the algorithms and keep the brand front of mind.

THE WORK

1 x 20s hero film for social, TV, and VOD

4 x 6s cutdowns and resizes with no VO

Subtitles across every output

24 month usage covered for cast and assets

“4 years in a row!”

LONG AFTER WRAP

After the main shoot, we secured a separate green screen pickup at Laughanstown once it got internal sign off, so VFX could match the hero lighting.

Then, once the client was happy on edit and grade, we handled late stage tweaks like subtitle delivery and a sound mix lift without reopening the project from scratch.
